FAQs

Everyone has questions! Below you'll find detailed answers to our most frequently asked questions about music lessons, subscription plans, teachers, schedules, and more.

Frequently Asked Questions

Explore our FAQs below to familiarize yourself with our teaching methods, homework, billing, scheduling, cancellation policy, and more.

Monthly Lesson Plan (Subscriptions)

The majority of our students take advantage of our monthly lesson plan subscriptions so they can have a time slot reserved for them on a recurring basis. Below you'll find answers to questions regarding

What musical instruments and styles do you offer?

It might be faster to tell you what we don't teach! Music lessons are offered in bass, drum, guitar, piano, ukulele, and voice. Jennifer, one of our instructors, is trained in flamenco, acoustic, and classical guitar, as well as piano and the Suzuki instructional method. Melvin offers music lessons in a variety of styles, tailored to your unique desires. This includes, but is not limited to: classical, contemporary, jazz, blues, gospel, rock, reggae, and more. From Bach to Swift, we have you covered.

When do I get billed?

Billing will occur on approximately the same day each month. Your billing date will begin after your free lesson and charge every month. If you need to move the payment date, just let us know!

What if I can't make a lesson?

Unfortunately, we cannot modify individual lesson times. This is because our time and space are quite limited, and we have reserved the studio for your private lesson at your regularly scheduled time. We're sorry to miss you and are happy to offer additional home exercises during your missed appointments.

My time slot isn't working for me.

Schedules change! We understand that. If we have availability, we're happy to shift your lesson to a different time slot. Have a chat with your teacher at your next lesson and we will figure it out!

What happens if there's a 5th day in a month?

Your Monthly Lesson Plan includes four (4) lessons, one per week. This means there will be no classes on the months with a 5th day or week. It's like a snow day - enjoy the time off! If you'd like to book an extra lesson, please talk to your teacher, who will be happy to accommodate you if their schedule allows for it.

How does cancelling my plan work?

We'll be sorry to see you go, but if lessons are no longer working for you, you can cancel with a 30-day notice. Just let your teacher know.
